COACHING

We create coaching relationships based on trust, mutual responsibility and an atmosphere that encourages experimentation, risk-taking, growth, and accountability. Using a cycle of assessment, challenge, reflection, and support we help our clients find creative solutions to the challenges they face, step out of their comfort zone, learn, and grow.

Each coach builds on theory and a wide range of practical experience to create customized programs and services. By establishing a deep relationship, each coach understands their client’s needs and creates services that enable them to succeed.

We use a three-phase approach to coaching:

Phase One: Coaching Assessment

During the first phase of coaching the coach and client work together to:

  • Understand the client’s unique situation, context, challenges and opportunities

  • Complete appropriate personality or 360 degree assessments

  • Identify themes – strengths and development areas from the assessment findings

  • Create a coaching plan which aligns with the needs of both the individual and the organization

  • Agree to measures of success

  • When appropriate, engage the client’s manager to create support and alignment for the coaching engagement

Phase Two: On-Going Coaching

In phase two the coach and client will meet regularly to:

  • Explore thinking and behavior patterns relative to goals and outcomes

  • Develop strategies for new behaviors

  • Experiment with new behaviors

  • Provide information on tools and techniques to support development and change

  • Complete a mid-term coaching evaluation to assure alignment between coach and client

Phase Three – Completion

At BPA we believe the best coaching comes to an end and that the client is transitioned to a long-term development plan which is supported by their organization or board. Therefore in phase three of the coaching the coach and client will:

  • Complete a final assessment to measure progress against development areas

  • Assess satisfaction with overall coaching experience, behavioral change and organizational impact

  • Agree on strategies and support necessary to sustain change and growth

  • Close coaching engagement
